These are called " risers" . I saw that at some late medieval swords and use it for some handles. Thre grip is also casted in high dense urethane foam

what are the two bumps/ridges under the handle wrapping? is the handle also cast that way, or did you wrap a roll of leather or something under there? It really adds a sweet little effect!
